Meet Our Team: Ryan Doman

Ryan-Doman-Blog

This week, we’ll be introducing you to another one of our beta managers, Ryan Doman. Ryan joined the Centercode team in 2002, fresh out of college. Like our other Meet Our Team blog posts, we feel it’s a positive thing when people can connect on a deeper level, rather than just reading someone’s emails or chatting with them during a project. Connecting with others is what makes collaborative processes run much smoother, and also much more fun. So, let’s get to know Ryan.

In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic in good beta tester?
We all appreciate good humor in a tester. It makes going through feedback a little easier. Good details, grammar, proper punctuation, and NEVER ALL CAPS, etc. Responsiveness is also a big one. We love it when we post a survey (or ask a question) and the response is very quick. This is always a really great thing.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen during a beta test?
Oh wow, tough question. We’ve all seen some crazy and funny things. The ones I’m thinking of, personally, probably shouldn’t be shared. But, there was one test where a tester kept on asking me for pictures of myself. That was interesting.

How have you seen beta testing help our customers and their products?
Every single day clients legitimately care about the feedback our testers are giving them. Not only has it saved their products, but their entire businesses as well.

What’s one piece of advice you’d like to give to our Betabound community?
We want to get you on our tests! We really do. Sometimes we can’t, however, because our clients are looking for very specific demographics. You may simply not fit into that exact test, but keep on trying!

What is one gadget that you own and couldn’t live without?
My MP3 player (I need my podcasts while I drive).

What’s your all-time favorite video game?
The Hitman series. I love games where I can sneak around, and I love to redo the levels until I get everything just perfect. I also remember the days when I had time to play video games… ahhh, those were good times!

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
My metal-head brethren (Mike Fine) may be shocked to hear this, but every time I’ve seen Bruce Springsteen has been a life-altering experience. They’ve moved me to tears.

If you had to pick a song that would play every single time you entered a room, what song would it be?
“Fight The Power” by the Isley Brothers. “Mother Popcorn” by James Brown is a song that would also be pretty sweet.

If you had to change your name to something else, what would you choose?
Black Dynamite! Unfortunately, this is already taken by a much cooler person than me. It would be pretty easy to change my last name to “Domanite” (I might just have to settle for that).

What would you like your last words to be?
“Thank you, great band, Queens Of The Stone Age. I agree, I was your best drummer.”

Once again, we give you a glimpse inside the mind of another member of the Betabound team. The next time you see Ryan’s name pop up on beta test, you’ll now know that he secretly wishes to be called “Black Dynamite”. Take this information as you will.

Are there any other specific questions (serious or not) that you’d like to see our Betabound team members answer? Speak up in the comments section below! We’d be happy to get them into the next Meet Our Team post.
